Now this is old. Remember Timmy in the Lassie show getting the stool to crank up this old wooden wall phone? The familiar operator saying "number please". In those days the numbers were three or 4 digit. The cranking of the magneto and that bell ringing sound. It was the first telephone made at the end of the 1800's where there were very few telephones and the telegraph was still widely used. They came in a variety of case styles ( plain front, cathedral top and picture frame front )and a variety of woods, but mostly oak. They even had a little writing shelf.
